Stop Press: In more surf related revelry, Thanks to @futurexwives for bringing in a VHS copy of John Carpenter’s 1974 space surfing smash Dark Star to the Frankfurt show for signing, unfortunately Mr Carpenter couldn’t attend.
Gruff Rhys and Y Niwl were inundated by Surf themed memorabilia on their recent tour in the U of K.
Having signed the Surf Pledge at the start of the tour, the first surfboard arrived in Liverpool, whilst shows in Bristol, Cambridge and London all featured plastic Palm trees that measured up to the 2 meter plus requisite.
Separado! The pan-continental, parallel universal fantasy music documentary movie by Gruff Rhys and Dylan Goch, has been selected for this year’s SXSW film festival. Better still is their decision to screen the film during the SXSW music festival. If you’re headed that way or resident in the awesomely outlandish outlaw city of Austin, Texas, you can catch the film at these cinemas:
Meanwhile, after having the best time ever in Mexico City last year, the Separado! team return to their spiritual home for the Ambulante festival.
Ambulante is a travelling documentary film festival that tours 12 cities in Mexico with a selection of over 50 documentaries shown in over 140 venues from February to May 2011. Check here to find out where and when Separado! is screening.

Having won the sound and vision award at Copenhagen’s CPH:DOX festival in 2010, Separado! has been selected for competition at the BAFICI film festival, Buenos Aires, Argentina in April 2011.
